Brief Bio:

As an international speaker, humorist, former comedian, and communication professor, I combine humor, research, and interactive techniques to create memorable events, & learning experiences. My 15+ years of experience include:

  • Professor at various universities/colleges: I understand the academic foundation of communication and leadership from a variety of demographics. 

  • Creative Consultant: I help organizations develop brainstorming, team-building, and communication strategies.

  • Guest Artist: I've engaged audiences across 12 state festivals and the International Thespian Festival.

  • Former Comedian: I use humor effectively to connect with audiences and make learning enjoyable.

Brooklin currently resides in North Carolina. She utilizes humor, play, and research to foster wellness, communication, and leadership skill development. She holds an MA in Communications and Leadership from Gonzaga University and is proudly a Cherokee Nation TERO-certified, LLC. Originally from Oklahoma, she's a Communications adjunct professor at UNCW, William Peace, NC State University & Wake Tech. She's a speaker coach that worked with TEDx speakers, & a former professional comedian, with experience performing, directing and coaching improv, stand-up, sketch, comedy and commercial writing. She is a graduate of Chicago’s Second City Conservatory and appeared on Nick at Nite’s “Funniest Mom in America (3).” Brooklin has presented workshops for national & state corporate/organizations like: academic's International Society for Humor Studies at Boston University, Native education's Johnson O’Malley Association, nCino, various NC & SC state wide municipal associations (see updated LinkedIn post to view current events).  She's designed pioneering courses like UNCW’s first “Comedy, Communication & Culture.”  Brooklin’s approach uniquely blends research, play, and humor to enhance communication, wellness, leadership, and personal growth.
